Women Rehabilitation Centre, often abbreviated as WOREC, is a not-for-profit organization with the Central Office in Balkumari, Lalitpur, Nepal.
The history of WOREC traces back to the early 90s, 1991 to be precise, when it started with a small group of seven women rights activists whose aim was solely to fight for the right of women and young girls who had experienced violence and excessive abuses.
Therefore, Violence Against Women (VAW), Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR), and Human Rights and Justice campaign has always been the three core focus of the Women’s Rehabilitation Centre.
WOREC isn’t just another NGO. It is one of the most popular NGOs in Nepal. The organization is indeed one of the best who is actively involved in fighting for the rights of vulnerable women to prevent them from abuse.
In addition to ensuring the social and economic well-being of every Nepalese woman, the organization reaches out to women in hard-to-reach, marginalized communities, making it possible for them to access rights and justice.
